Euphemism of a Disquiet Day

Featuring 18 artists including the members of the project space, “Euphemism of a Disquiet Day” is an exhibition organized in collaboration with Gr_und and Mathias Gramoso.

The artworks presented here may seem rooted in everyday life – ordinary objects, familiar scenarios, everyday imagery – but in this context it can reveals us different interpretations. You can find a fine line in between compliance and defiance, where what seems common is, in fact where you can uncover a deep layer of restlessness, where ordinary things are transformed into critiques of conformity, and where irony speaks louder than words.

As we move through the exhibition space, we encounter a pyramid made of sugar, a garden gnome cast in bronze, a sculpture of two ceramic sinks positioned together, a deconstructed chair and more. These familiar materials, everyday imagery, and recognizable objects lull us into a false sense of comfort. Yet, beneath this surface, a deeper narrative challenges us to question our norms, the appeal of conformity, and how the ordinary can both comfort and disrupt.
