Following its initial exhibition at Kunstquartier Bethanien, NEUN returns in a new format as Afterimage, bringing together seven photographers who approach documentary photography as a form of personal inquiry.

Some turn their cameras outward, to burlesque stages and suspended realities, architectural heritage and collective memory, northern landscapes scarred by extractivism, or animals navigating highly constructed conditions of coexistence. Others turn inward, toward daily rituals and the quiet persistence of everyday gestures. Some do both at once.

The exhibition offers no final images, only beginnings, entries, and continuations. Together, the works trace fault lines of nature, belonging, memory, and healing.

These projects grew out of a year-long seminar at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie, led and curated by Mustafah Abdulaziz.

For its final afternoon, gr_und hosts a closing event featuring a DJ set, drinks, and a selection of posters and photographic prints.
